Ok. Start by compacting your Inbox (probably, File|Compact, or tright click|compact). Sorry, I don't have Communicator to test.
Next step is to create some folder where like mail can be stored. For instance, I have the Book reports from the New York Times. I have a folder for the reportd going back to 2005. Much easier to find!
It took a few days before I got myself organized, but it has been worth the effort.

Just drag the desktop shortcut to the taskbar, or look to the right of any taskbar shortcut which you may have (my taskbar shows only five buttons, but I have a number of buttons hidden). I did that before I discovered the Get Mail add-on, which lets you place a icon in a toolbar of Firefox. I have such buttons in Firefox2.0.016, 3.0.1, and Flock, but the taskbar way is independent of any browser.
That was referred to by me, and later by UD

Min. recommended rev's of Netscape/Firefox supporting 128bit

Easy way to tell if you have 128-bit is to look for the U in the user-agent string:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1

Windows; U; above means United States encryption - 128-bit

Prior to Netscape 6, you could add 128- bit encryption by using a 3rd party app such as "Fortify" to patch the executable in Communicator.
